Sony release new DualShock 3 controller
Video games No Comments »One of the most annoying things about the new PlayStation3 SixAxis controller is the lack of rumble - nobody liked the idea when it was announced, and nobody liked the idea when it was released. Finally Sony have seen the light, and have released the new DualShock 3 controller for the PlayStation3. And of course, it rumbles! The new DualShock 3 is wireless, uses play and charge technology (so you can play ‘wired’ while charging), and it comes in black or white. Thank you for listening Sony! The DualShock 3 is here just in time for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue - let’s rumble!
NOW is the time to finally buy a PlayStation2
Video games No Comments »That’s not a typo. I’m talking about the PlayStation2. If you don’t already have one, then it’s about time you did. No home is complete without a PS2 - even if it’s just to play Gran Turismo 4 and We Love Katamari. Brand new slim PlayStation2 consoles are getting ridiculously cheap these days, and used games are being sold for as low as $1 each. You can even get the super sexy silver consoles for a fraction of what they cost when they were released. My original ‘chubby’ PlayStation2 is almost 7 years old now, so I’m thinking of buying a new slim PS2 to keep in the box - I wish I had have done that when all those Atari 2600s where being sold off in the 80s!
Duck Hunt anyone?
Computer accessories, Video games No Comments »I’ve just bought a cheap GunCon2 light gun to re-live all the fun of playing Duck Hunt on the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Using the Windows drivers for the GunCon2, and a NES emulator on my PC (which I’ve got plugged into my TV), I can play Duck Hunt and all the other light gun games - and of course the newer GunCon games for the PlayStation2. Classic gaming at its best!
Halo 3 Xbox 360 headset
Video games No Comments »Microsoft have released a limited edition wireless Halo 3 Xbox 360 headset. It looks cool, and it won’t be available forever - I’m buying one.
Sony PSP Slim and Lite
Video games No Comments »Sony have released a new version of the PSP - the “Slim and Lite”. It sounds like a new diet yogurt, but as far as handheld devices go, it looks totally awesome. It comes in a great range of colors (including pink, blue and silver), and is even available in a limited edition Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII edition.
GP2X - the alternative handheld
Video games No Comments »GP2X. Never heard of it? Well I’m not suprised. The GP2X is an awesome handheld that runs nearly every emulator under the sun. The GP2X runs Linux, and can emulate a huge amount of retro games consoles… (deep breath) SNES, NES, SEGA Genesis, Sega Master System, Neo-Geo, GameBoy, GameBoy Advance, Atari 2600, C64, Amiga… the list goes on and on. The GP2X also features TV out, so you can play everything on your TV, it’s also capable of playing DivX movies (and other formats). Plus it runs on plain old AA batteries. Linux in you pocket!

Computer accessories, USB, Video games No Comments »If you’re running any kind of homebrew software on your Sony PSP, then these little card readers are a great tool to have. They let you read and write to Sony Memory Sticks using your home PC USB port.

Transformers PlayStation 3 game
Video games No Comments »You’ve seen the Transformers movie - now play the excellent new Transformers PlayStation 3 game. This game is absoluely huge, and so are the Transformers - simply watching them transform would be enough if that’s all there was to this game. Even if you’re not really into the whole Transformers thing, this is easily one of the best titles for the PS3. Recommended.
