Damaged car auctions
Vehicles No Comments »One thing I like to do when I’m bored, is look up damaged car auctions. I don’t have the time or patience to restore a wrecked car, so I’d never actually consider buying one - but there are some great bargains out there, and it’s kinda cool seeing exotic supercars that have been wrecked.
Toyota Prius - it’s just a normal car…
Vehicles No Comments »A friend of mine recently hired a Prius for a week - it cost him an extra $5 a day (I don’t know why), but it was well worth it. I went for a few drives in it, and I have to say, I’m incredibly impressed. After you get over the initial novelty value of watching the electric motor kick in (the Prius has a great dash display that tells you everything!), then it’s just a normal car - except it’s very very quiet. I think Toyota should be pushing the Prius not just as an eco/economical car, but as a silent car. When you’re sitting at traffic lights, the Prius litereally makes no noise. I like it.
I’m THIS close to buying a Golf GTI
Vehicles No Comments »I’ve pretty much decided that I’m going to buy myself a VW Golf GTI in the next couple of weeks. Or course, what I really want is an R32, but that’s just not going to happen ($$$), so I’m going to have to live with a lowly GTI. I’ve test driven about 5 GTIs in the last few weeks, and they were all fantastic - but the prices at my local car dealers were ridiculous, so I’m looking to buy one ’semi-locally’ online.. Watch this space…
Oldsmobile Cutlass, my kinda car
Vehicles No Comments »One day when I’ve got money to burn I’m going to buy myself a 60s or 70s Oldmobile Cutlass. My uncle had one when I wad kid, and I’ve loved them ever since. It looks like many of them have been owned by collectors and enthusiasts as most of the unrestored ones for sales are still in really nice condition.
Yamaha Rhino - 4×4 gets cute
Vehicles No Comments »The Yamaha Rhino 450 & 660 are among some of the most exciting 4×4 ATV vehicles ever to be released - these unique machines can be used as a utility vehicle, or as a seriously fun off road machine. The Rhino can carry 2 people and 400lbs of cargo in it’s mini truck bed, and is ideal as a farm vehicile, or for a day out in the mud.
