I’ve decided to get my bread maker out this week and get back into baking my own bread. A friend of mine made some licorice bread, which sounds awful - but is actually delicious. I’m inspired to make my own weird bread recipes now!

Having only ever seen The Naked Chef television series, I always thought that Jamie Oliver was a bit of a jerk. But in the last few months I’ve been watching Jamie At Home on TV, and I’m almost embarrassed to say it - but I’m actually impressed! I’ve even made a few of the simple home style dishes from the show. Jamie At Home is a huge step away from The Naked Chef, it’s down to earth, genuinelly funny, and most importantly, shows you how to cook real world food using ingredients that you’ve probably already got in your kitchen.
Now this is a super cute way to start your day! There’s even a special edition of the Hello Kitty toaster that ‘prints’ a cute little kitty image on your bread as it toasts.
KitchenAid’s Artisan mixer is a seriously solid piece of equipment, and it looks beautiful too. The KitchenAid Artisan dough hook attachment is absolutely fantastic, you’ll never knead again - it can even handle sticky pizza dough! It has a powerful 325w motor and it’s built like a tank (a really pretty tank!). This is a mixer that you won’t want to hide away in a cupboard, it’s designed to sit proudly on your kitchen bench - everytime you look at it you’ll just want to start cooking!
I got my parents a Breadman bread maker for Christmas. It’s programmable so they can set it up at night, and then wake up to fresh hot bread in the morning. I looked at a few brands, the Panasonic and Zojirushi bread makers both looked good, but I asked at a few stores (before buying online!) and all the sales people seemed to think that Breadman was the way to go. I love researching products in stores, then buying online!
These are just too cute. I bought these little hugging salt and pepper shakers for only $7! They’re perfect for our breakfast table, and give me a little smile every morning. They kinda look like friendly ghosts when they’re not hugging.
I absolutely love soft serve frozon yogurt - but there’s not many stores near me that sell it. So I’ve decided to try making my own! I’m currently bidding on a Deni soft serve ice cream maker - my sister has the exact same model and she makes some delicious frozen yogurts using fresh fruit. Obviously the Deni machine also makes regular soft serve ice cream (which the kids love) - but I’m trying to eat healthy, so it’s just yogurt and fruit for me!
There’s a lot of cheap Starbucks Barista coffee machines for sale at the moment, and although they’re not exactly up there with the Gaggia and Rancilio machines - they’re actually really good value, and make superb coffee. If you don’t need an Italian brand name on your espresso machine, then the Starbucks Barista is worth checking out.
