I’ve got a Logitech EX100 keyboard and mouse, but I’m absolutely sick to death of replacing the batteries in the mouse! So I’m getting a new Logitech cordless desktop setup. After a bit of research, I’ve decided on the MX 5500. It has a cradle for the mouse, so that means NEVER having to change the batteries! The Logitech MX 5500 isn’t cheap, but I don’t care. I’ve had my moneys worth out of my current Logitech setup, and I love the feel of Logitech keyboards.

D-Link G604T router

I know there are newer routers around, but everytime I’m asked to setup a friends WiFi connection for them, I always recommend the D-Link G604T. It’s incredibly good value for money, has upgradeable firmware, and has a great admin user interface. I’m almost tempted to buy a few of them and keep them in their boxes in case D-Link stop making them!

My first Mac was a Macintosh SE – I did all my high school work on it, wrote stories, even learnt the basics of desktop publishing (wow! remember that?). I stupidly gave my wonderful old Mac away a long time ago, and have recently been thinking about buying another one, just ‘to have’. I was pleasantly surprised that there’s still plenty of them around, and that they’re not too expensive.

I’ve just given my massive Compaq Presario to my parents, and replaced it with a nice new Eee PC 901! It’s soooo tiny and adorable. It’s also pretty fast, and will happily run Photoshop and Dreamweaver. The keyboard takes a bit of getting used to, but after a few days you forget just how small it is – you even adjust to the small screen size. I can’t believe that I used to cart around my massive old Compaq. The Eee PC can fit in my messenger bag and only takes up about as much room as a large novel. I like it!

My first computer was a Commodore Vic-20. I loved it. But I have no idea where it went… and even though I have a Vic-20 emulator on my PC, I’m going to buy myself a real one. Yes, a real Vic-20 that I can plug into my TV and play Gorf on.
