Have you ever wanted to make your own ironing water? If you really want to do it properly you need to use distilled water. Distilled water is made by boiling water, and collecting the steam - which is made up of almost pure water. If you want a slightly easier way, you can defrost your fridge and use that water.

I lost my wallet today - somewhere between checking to make sure I had some cash, and taking the 10 steps to get into my car to drive home. I don’t know how I did it, but it was (and still is) just one those days where everything goes wrong. So now that I’m safely home ($350 lighter, and with all my credit cards cancelled) I’ve started looking for a new wallet to buy. I’ve always felt a little bit ‘icky’ about carrying a leather wallet, so I’m trying to turn this experience into a postive and use it as an opportunity to find a nice vegan wallet. All I want is a simple card holder, without velcro or an ugly plastic window - canvas, fabric, ‘fake’ leather - I don’t care, as long as it’s not made from an animal. But I just can’t find something that I can live with…
I recently saw an episode of MythBusters where Adam and Jamie were testing the various methods of escaping from a car submerged in water. They weren’t able to open the door, or kick out the window (even with steel toe boots!) - but they tried a simple spring loaded center punch from Adam’s toolbox, and it broke the window immediately. If you’re planning on driving your car off a bridge (it does happen!), then it might be a good idea to keep a center punch in your glove compartment!
