I went to France a few years ago and the only French I knew was “I don’t speak French” - luckily most of the people I talked to knew a little bit of English so I was able to get by. I’m planning another vacation to Paris in the next year, but this time I think I should know a few more essential French phrases so I don’t have to resort to pointing and hand signs to communicate.
