I made my own WiFi signal booster today using a wok. I was over at my parent’s house (which is close to my house), and was messing around with my old NETGEAR WG111 - I was hoping that I could get onto my home network, but it wouldn’t even show up - so I grabbed a wok and some sticky tape, and five minutes later I was on the net. It’s kinda cool to visit your parents house and steal the neighbours WiFi connection - especially when you’re stealing from yourself
Great pics and more info on wok boosters here.
I didn’t realize that eBay permitted the sale of air rifle pellets, but there’s actually a huge range available at some very nice prices. I’m looking at buying a Gamo Shadow (or maybe a Whisper), and want to try out as many air rifle pellets as I can.
I recently got a ’standard’ Victorinox Swiss Card, but I’ve just found out about their cool new “Lite” version that includes an LED light. Very nice! Of course I’m going to have to get one
I finally got to use my cool new Victorinox Swiss Card for something useful - I’ve just finished removing a blackberry thorn out of my thumb using the knife and tweezers. It wasn’t pretty, but it was kinda fun.
I’ve always been a fan of old (50s and 60s) clocks, and have decided to start collecting them. I’ve only got a handful of desk clocks and a few mantle clocks so far, but I’m currently bidding on several nice WESTCLOX retro clocks to add to my collection.
Fred Perry polo shirts are timeless. They simply don’t date, and I love ‘em.

The SNES is easily my favorite console system of all time, and regardless of what Sony and MS (and even Nintendo) come up with these days, nothing beats the huge range of SNES titles when it comes down to pure gameplay. There are plenty of SNES games that I still play regularly using PC emulators and on my GP2X handheld, but the one that I keep coming back to is the Konami classic Pop’n Twinbee. The graphics are gorgeous, and it has just enough cutesy Japanese factor going on. Vertical shooters simply don’t get any better than this. It’s my favorite SNES game of all time.
I’ve been wanting to buy a real telescope for a long time, and I finally have. After having a string of cheapies, I finally decided that it was time to take the plunge and get a Meade. My uncle has one the same and recommended it to me, and I couldn’t be happier with it!
The FURminator has been designed to reduce pet shedding better than any brush, comb, or rake, and works effectively for all shedding breeds of dogs and cats. The FURminator has a stainless-steel edge that grabs loose undercoat hair and quickly and easily removes it, without damaging the topcoat. It actually brings out your pet’s natural oils, leaving a shiny and healthy topcoat.
